Observations from the Intern Desk

People often think that interns only do minuscule tasks around the office, or just sit at the intern desk. While this may be easy at times, it is in no way, shape or form, fun. Walking into the office on the first day, I didn’t exactly know what I was getting myself into as this is the first time in my life where I actually have to take what I learn in class and apply it to the so called “real world”.

Every day here is a continuous learning experience.

My daily tasks are usually different, but all of them are geared towards the same goal of helping me learn. The tasks that I am assigned help me gain more of an understanding of everything Agency Two Twelve has to offer. Some of the tasks consist of writing radio spots, inputting website content, uploading social media content, brainstorming different marketing ideas for clients, etc. Some can be easy, some a little more difficult, but at the end of the day it is still a great learning experience, especially from an intern desk.

It is easy adjusting to the “real world” with the comfortable and friendly atmosphere that Agency Two Twelve presents.

Even though many of my daily tasks are different, there are always a few things that remain the same. From the “What’s up chief?” greeting from Travis when I walk in the door, to the “Good afternoon Agency Two Twelve…” whenever the phone rings, to checking my email and agenda for the day the instant I sit down.

So far my time at Agency Two Twelve has been awesome!

I am learning so many new things of what a marketing agency does, while gaining experience of my own that I can apply to my future.
